70s Gen Dream - Novation Circuit Tracks Pack by Yves Big City

video upload by Isotonik Studios

Demo TWO - 70s Gen Dream - Novation Circuit Tracks Pack by Yves Big City

AVAILABLE HERE: https://isotonikstudios.com/product/7..

"A Journey Back to the Dawn of Electronic Music with 70s Gen Dream

The year is 1978. Young Yves, captivated by the sounds of Kraftwerk's "We Are the Robots," is transported to a sonic frontier. The robotic vocals, the pulsating rhythms, the sheer audacity of it all – it's unlike anything he's ever heard, yet it somehow feels like a glimpse into the future.

But amidst the revolutionary sounds, there's also a touch of romanticism, a characteristic melody of the 70s era, where exploration was boundless and imagination fueled creation. As a Frenchman, he can't help but be drawn to the ethereal beauty of Jean-Michel Jarre's "Oxygène," a track that defies explanation, existing in a realm beyond the ordinary.

Inspired by these sonic pioneers, he embarks on a months-long odyssey. His mission: to capture the essence of these vintage sounds and translate them into the modern language of the Novation Circuit Tracks. His vision? To grant every music maker the opportunity to touch the spirit of the 70s, to channel the unbridled creativity of that golden age.

But "70s Gen Dream" goes beyond simply providing the sounds. To spark your creative flame, the pack also features Generative & Experimental Patches.

This innovative feature introduces a unique twist

Ever-evolving soundscapes:These special patches are designed to generate new melodies every time you play them, transforming a basic pattern into a fresh and dynamic soundscape each time it's triggered. It's like rolling the dice for sonic inspiration, keeping your music constantly evolving and surprising.

Imagine crafting a simple bassline that morphs and twists with each key press, adding a layer of organic unpredictability and delightful sonic surprises to your tracks. ✨

Don't just replicate the past. Reimagine it.

ELKA RHAPSODY 610 String Machine 1974 | HD DEMO

video upload by AnalogAudio1

"(c) 2024 by AnalogAudio1

Demo of the string machine ELKA RHAPSODY from 1974. I played it dry. It can produce warm analog strings in combined with celeste-type sounds. Fully polyphonic, it has splitable keyboard. Heavily used by Tangerine Dream in the 1970s. But also played by Klaus Schulze (Timewind), Jean-Michel Jarre (Equinoxe), Vangelis and others."

Korg Wavestate - Jean-Michel Jarre Tribute (40 Performances)

video upload by LFOstore

"The music of the legendary composer and performer, Jean-Michel Jarre, opened a door into a new world of electronic music back in 1976 with the release of 'Oxygene' album, which went on to sell over 18 million copies worldwide. His music has inspired generations of people around the world, allowing to travel into a new dimension of sensations and states. He is one of the most successful musicians in history, and holds the world record for the monumental 3.5 million spectators to his Moscow concert in 1997.

Inspired by the maestro’s work, LFO Store team’s renowned sound designer, Otto K. Schwarz, has prepared for you a wonderful soundbank with 40 presets on board. One of the greatest synthesizers of our time, Korg Wavestate, is a great tool both to emulate the sounds of iconic synthesizers of the past, as well as create multi-layered sounds that allow to stretch your imagination into the future. We did not strive to completely repeat the sounds created by the Master, but looked into the same direction, using our experience and modern vision.

These presets are from different categories: ARPs, leads, FXes, synths, strings, brasses, and even more! They are royalty-free and suitable for both studio work and live performances. The presets are modwheel - assigned, which allows you to modulate the sounds to the needs of your own musical works.

We wish you a wonderful journey and inspiration in creating world-class musical compositions!"

Jean Michel Jarre - La derniere rumba - The last Rumba - Magnetic Fields 5 - ELKA X705 test drive

video upload by adamstan84

"Finally I finished repairs on this organ, and it's fully functional. So to test it out, I recorded this classic piece, which originally was also performed on this instrument.
I played the melody in the way that's closer to the live version from 'Concerts in China' than the album one. Hope you enjoy it :)"

Berlin School live performance at home - "Analog crabs"

video upload by Caught In Joy

"'Analog crabs' is my Berlin School electronic music performance from my latest album "La chica de la playa" out on Bandcamp: https://caughtinjoy.bandcamp.com/albu...

Playing the analog synthesizers, modular drum machines and guitar pedals in a Berlin School music style is like embarking on an electronic journey through time and space. As your fingers dance across the synthesizer's lush, vintage-style keys, you unleash a sonic universe that harkens back to the iconic soundscapes of the 1970s pioneers like Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, and Jean-Michel Jarre.

I hope these analog warmth and organic textures will transport you to a sonic realm where pulsating sequencers guide your way through mysterious, cosmic landscapes on a rainy Berlin night.

All my recent songs are fully improvised and performed "dawlessly". Creating "dawless" electronic music in a home studio involves producing music without using a traditional Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). Instead, hardware synthesizers, modular synths and effects are used to create, sequence, and manipulate sounds directly. This approach can provide a hands-on, tactile experience and encourage creativity by relying on physical gear rather than a computer interface. It allows for a more immediate and intuitive workflow, with real-time control over parameters, resulting in a unique sonic character.

Timeline:
0:00:00 Intro with Moog Mavis, Prophet-10 and Moog Matriarch
0:07:16 Moog One solo
0:11:28 Moog Matriarch ending solo

Playing Moog One, Moog Matriarch, Moog Mavis, Moog DFAM and Prophet-10.

If you appreciate music that helps you unwind or just old-school electronic sounds crafted with analog synthesizers, explore my extensive collection of 20+ albums on Bandcamp."

The First Ever all ARP 2500 Album Opens for Preorder Today on BandCamp

via the Alan R Pearlman Foundation

It's BandCamp Friday, and we have a treat for you!

The first ever all ARP 2500 album opens for preorder today on BandCamp!

Check out the album Now!

The ARP 2500 by David Baron
Distrubuted by Here & Now Recordings

About the Album:

Although it went largely unnoticed at the time, the 2500 became one of the most famous synthesizers in history when it was featured prominently in the film Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, where it was used to communicate with an alien spaceship.

ARP instruments founder Alan Robert Pearlman was a Nasa scientist. Between 1970 and 1981 only 100 ARP 2500's were ever made, each a custom order, no standard configurations. ARP 2500 one of Jean-Michel Jarre's favourite instruments. All the sounds are completely unique. You pretty much need a degree in physics to operate one!

Pete Townsend "Mine plays six notes at once, can have 20 sets of preset control voltages available, six audio signals mixed and instantly usable at various levels. The most incredibly subtle tone colours can be produced using the multimode resonator in conjunction with a normal filter, and the sequencer will provide exhilarating cascades of arpeggios."

David Baron "The Arp 2500 was the only sound source. I sequenced one or two patches at a time and then built the compositions in layers. A lot of the audio FX were created through the use of pedals. The reverberation came from the Bricasti, EMT 240 Plate, Roland Space Echo 501, and a Vermona Spring Reverb. The Arp 2500 always ran through the Avedis Key Pre. I used very little dynamic compression/limiting. Time delay effects were mostly created ‘in the box’ but also with rack mount outboard including the AMS Tape Phase Simulator, an Eventide Instant Flanger, and a MXR Flanger/Doubler. The instrument stays in tune (for the most part). The filters can distort so some care has to be used when gain staging. The envelopes are very snappy. The sound is beautiful and creamy yet percussive and forward."

About David Baron
Record producer, film composer, musician, arranger, engineer located in the historic Woodstock, New York area. An avid collector of vintage analog synthesizers and recording gear. He owns a private recording studio called Sun Mountain Studios located on top of a mountain overlooking the Ashokan Reservoir.

Some artists he has worked with: Lumineers, Shania Twain, Jade Bird, Shawn Mendes, Vance Joy, Meghan Trainor, Lenny Kravitz, Jeremiah Fraites, Josin, Matt Maeson and Lana Del Rey.

He blends retro and modern, orchestrated and raw. The contrast that brings out the emotion of a scene or in a song.

David releases his own music on UK-based Here and Now Recordings.

XILS-lab Releases Ring’X Virtual Effects

Press release follows.

XILS-lab releases Ring’X representing latest addition to lengthening line of virtual effects as inspiring and musical multi-effect plug-in par excellence

GRENOBLE, FRANCE: audio software company XILS-lab is proud to release Ring’X — readily representing the latest addition to its lengthening line of virtual effects as an inspiring and musical multi-effect plug-in par excellence — as of September 28…

Duly developed as an inspiring and musical multi-effect plug-in for seriously satisfying anyone’s needs, Ring’X is certainly worthy of the oft- overused French phrase par excellence — literally translated into English as ‘by excellence’ — as evidenced by its feature-packed GUI (Graphical User Interface) that is as easy on the eye as it is easy to use.

Ultimately, it is anchored around a six-slot so-called ‘Effect Ring’ that allows anyone to insert the effects they need in the order they want, choosing from a selection of deeply-modifiable classic analogue effect emulations: ANALOG FILTER — modelled from the CMS 3320 chip, used in the exciting-sounding (early-Eighties-era) Elka Synthex subtractive synthesis-based polytimbral powerhouse (much loved by the likes of famous French electronic music pioneer Jean-Michel Jarre, who still uses it to this day to create the distinctive sound of his onstage laser harp), providing five (LP24 — 24db Low-Pass, LP12 — 12db Low-Pass, HP12 —12db High-Pass, BP12 — 12db Band-Pass, or BP6 — 6db Band-Pass) self- oscillating filter types; ANALOG 18db FILTER — modelling the specific sound and behaviour of an 18db self-oscillating filter from the breakthrough British EMS VCS3, which made musical history upon its introduction in 1969 by being the first commercially portable synthesiser available anywhere in the world, thanks to its innovative modular matrix-based patchboard dispensing with the telephone exchange-like cabling of other (much larger) modular systems in favour of making space-saving connections with (removable) coloured pegs; CHORUS (BUCKET BRIGADE DELAY); DELAY — stereo delay that copies the input signal to the left and right channel; DISTORTION; PARAMETRIC EQ — a three-band affair with each band type selectable from six standard filter types; PHASER; and REVERB — with three (L — Large, M — Medium, and S — Small) algorithms. Each effect provides four MODULATION points with a SOURCE and DESTINATION menu associated with an AMOUNT knob.

Standard STEP and specific LOC locator sequencers for modulating effects are also available — the loop goes through a defined number of steps and each time the internal clock is fired the next step is triggered, in the case of the former, while the latter is designed to be synchronised to the DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) with the loop being synchronised to the DAW bar (or a multiple of the bar).

But that’s not all. Another area well worth highlighting here features four input followers; a TRANSIENT tracker ‘module’ — detects the transients present in the input sound, each transient triggering a simple envelope without attack and release controlled by the RELEASE knob; S- DETECTION ‘module’ — detects sibilance present in the input sound, and also useful for separating high-frequency parts from those with more middle and bass frequencies; GATE ‘module’ — removes all the parts from the input sound that are below a specified threshold; and a STEREO SPACE ‘module’ — powerful stereo processing that allows users to dynamically position their audio signal into a true stereo space.

By being so flexible in both operation and resulting effects, it stands to reason, therefore, that Ring’X should come complete with a raft of presets. All are accessible via an integrated (single-window) Preset Manager, making it easy to find the right patch in seconds, manage presets, sound banks, and create custom tags. That being said, then, inspiring and musical multi-effects are only a click away, but those wishing to dig deeper to seriously satisfy their needs are always free to do just that! After all, as the latest addition to XILS-lab’s lengthening line of virtual effects, Ring’X is, indeed, an inspiring and musical multi-effect plug-in par excellence — in the literal sense of those (French- originating) words.

Who better, then, to put Ring’X in its rightful place than the Frenchman primarily responsible for bringing it into existence — namely, XILS-lab CEO Xavier Oudin (credited in the multi-effect plug-in in question’s user manual with: Concept of Ring’X and original UI design; Digital Signal Processing and plug-in coding; [and] the graphical user interface). “For a number of years, customers have been regularly asking me to create an effect featuring filters extracted from our synthesizers,” he begins, before adding: “This idea grew into providing a sort of Swiss army knife-style tool capable of sculpting audio with modulation fully independent of its content, and also able to create any kind of de-esser and transient shaper with far more possibilities than standard such effects. Eventually, Ring’X was born.”

Ring’X is available to purchase as an iLok-protected virtual effect plug-in (installable in up to two independent locations) at an introductory promo price of only €69.00 EUR until October 31, 2023 — rising thereafter to an MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price) of €179.00 EUR — directly from XILS-lab via its dedicated webpage, which also includes more in-depth information and several must-see video demonstrations, here: https://www.xils-lab.com/products/ringx-p-172.html#

A time-limited full version of Ring’X can be requested for pre-purchase evaluation purposes here: https://www.xils-lab.com/products/ringx-p-172/download.html#AskDemo

Ring’X is downloadable in 64-bit AAX (native)-, AU-, VST2.4-, and VST3-compatible formats for macOS (10.9+) and 64-bit AAX (native)-, VST2.4-, and VST3-compatible formats for Windows (7/8/10) directly from XILS-lab.

Dive into the World of EMS VCS3: Unraveling the Power of Modulation & Filters

video upload by Andy Whitmore

"Revolutionize Your Sound: Exploring EMS VCS3's Modulation & Filter Capabilities

Demo of a wide range of sounds & special FX of the VCS3 - & how to program them - explained by Andy Whitmore at Greystoke Studio.

The audio is DIRECT, 100% DRY, & IN STEREO - You are hearing the raw audio as it comes directly from the synthesizer. NO post processing (Effects, EQ, or Dynamics) whatsoever.

The VCS 3 (or VCS3; an initialism for Voltage Controlled Studio, version) is a portable analog synthesiser with a flexible semi-modular voice architecture, by Electronic Music Studios (London) Limited (EMS) in 1969.
This product was called various names by EMS. For example, the printed logo written to the front left of products are: 'V.C.S. 3' or 'The Putney (VCS 3)' on the earlier version, then 'The Synthi (VCS 3) II' on the later version (Synthi VCS 3 II).

The VCS 3's basic design was reused by EMS in many other of their own products, most notably in the EMS Synthi 100 (1971), and the Synthi A (1971) and AKS (1972) (essentially a VCS 3 housed in a plastic briefcase). The AKS also has a sequencer built into the keyboard in the lid.

Yamaha EX5 Demos by Snupps

videos upload by Snupps Synth channel

Use the player controls to skip through videos.

1.
A demo of a effect sound i made, Under the Name The Abyss, its a strange sound. And only the EX5 can achieve this type of sounds, I used no external FX for this and there is almost no layered tracks, mostly one continous recorded track. I used the AWM/FDSP engine for this, Cheers!
Yamaha EX5 Demo The Abyss 2. Public Transport (Yamaha EX5 Demo)
A ambient track, where i mostly use my Yamaha EX5, and most specifically a sound i made under the name Transporter, which kinda sounds like a bowed string instrument, where i used the FDSP synth engine. I also used my Korg M50 and Kawai K5000s for some more layered sounds. All the sounds were made by me.

"Outer space in a briefcase. That is the gist of the legendary Synthi series. The Synthi is capable of soft drifting lead lines, abstract snarling modulation, clean warm textures and anything in between. This is the real deal. Brian Eno, Pink Floyd, Stereolab, Yes, Aphex Twin, Autechre, Jean-Michel Jarre, Astral Projection, Vince Clarke, The Who, Todd Rundgren, Recoil, Freddy Fresh and Ultravox are some artist known for using the Synthi series just to name a few."
